I attended a Body Moves open house in December of 2002 and saw Nia
for the first time! A room packed with gyrating bodies, happy faces,
pounding music and incredible energy made me realize that whatever this
was, I wanted to be a part of it! I came home to Corvallis, found a
wonderful Nia instructor here, Pauline Osborne, and began my Nia
practice. Six months later, with her encouragment I took the white belt
intensive, began teaching in March of 2003 and discovered my passion. 3
years (and one FAB) later I am still teaching, learning, growing and loving
Nia and Corvallis has grown to support four current teachers. We have
formed a viable Nia community here. I have found Nia to be the perfect
balance to my other profession as a graphic designer. The best part of my
life is sharing Nia with others and the joy and love my students bring to my
teaching.

Nia has played a key role on my journey to vital health and wellness.
I discovered it after years of tolerating chronic pain in my body’s
connective tissues, fighting insomnia, fatigue, hormonal imbalances, and
food intolerances. My first class experience was flat out fun, energizing
and powerful as it reconnected me to a love of music and movement. Nia
gave me tools to personalize my workout and empower me, the collegiate
athlete, to listen to my body. Through awareness I honored My Body’s
Way and guided myself through a range and level of intensity that was
right for me. My body began to heal. I became strong, supple and
energized as I fell in love with the sensation & creativity of Nia. As a Nia
teacher, Yoga teacher, and Wellness Coach, it is my desire to be
strongly present, passionate and to empower others on their own path of
wellness.

I was looking for that special something for years, and I found it when I
stepped into my very first Nia class. After dancing Nia for 10 years now (6
years teaching), I love the discovery, joy and aliveness I experience
newly time and time again. It's like coming home to a whole new part of
me each and every time I take or teach a class. Way back when, I was on
my way to be a professional dancer, and long after leaving that path and
having a family, I was delighted to find that open, in-the-moment spirit of
dance in the 'regular' folks of my first Nia class. I've been hooked ever
since. (I have a BA in Theater/Dance Emphasis and have served in the
administrative end of the non-profit and not-for-profit sector.)

I grew up in Hungary studying a wide variety of dance and movement
forms, including 13 years of Classical Ballet, Ballroom Dancing and Jazz.
After coming to the US in 1991 I learned Tai-Chi, Yoga, Modern Dance,
Ballet Folclorico and others. In 1994 during my last year of college at
Portland State University, I took my first Nia classes with Debbie and
Carlos. None of my previous movement experiences came close to
matching the Joy I received from Nia.
I completed my white belt training in 1997 and taught my first class in
Corvallis to a group of 45 people from all over the world. I felt that it
couldn't get any better than this. This experience brought Nia together
with my life-long passion for meeting people from other cultures.
Since then I have taught classes and workshops at a wide variety of
locations in the US, Hungary and Italy. In September 2001 I moved back
to Hungary with my family and had the honor of introducing Nia to my
country.
In addition to Nia, I hold a B.A. in Foreign Languages and a certificate in
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
